I run teaching courses in my newly completed straw bale studio
(click here to see a photo).
Classes are small and friendly and aimed at all levels of ability for people who want to find out more about wildlife painting and illustration.
Following the popularity of the wildlife classes, this year I have added a new course, Painting Suffolk Lansdcapes.
Places are limited to 6 for each session so early booking is essential.
Bed and breakfast is also available for up to three people.
Please click the headings below for details.
Drawing and painting wildlife under the guidance of a professional wildlife artist and illustrator.
| MAY 2013 | JULY 2013 | |||||
| Sat 18th - Sun 19th | 10am - 4pm | Sat 13th - Sun 14th | 10am - 4pm | |||
The course will consist of two days' instruction and various drawing and painting techniques will be demonstrated and discussed with particular emphasis on those most suitable for field observation.
Students will be encouraged to approach the subject with open eyes and "draw what they see not what they think they see."
Beginners are most welcome as this is a relaxed and enjoyable two days designed to bring out the best of your artistic potential.
Please bring basic sketching and painting materials along with plenty of enthusiasm!
The course will begin with an illustrated talk describing the history and development of wildlife painting with examples of many styles and media. This will be followed by a studio drawing session and field sketching in the afternoon.
Day two will build on this with "one on one" advice and instruction and the challenges of drawing living moving animals will be discussed – along with some solutions!
We also offer bed and breakfast accommodation.
This is limited and caters for 3 people - one double bedroom and one single.
The bathroom is exclusively for the use of our guests.
The cost is £35 per night; early booking is advised.
The price of the course is £70 per day (£140.00 for the two days) and includes morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea.
Booking will be accepted on a first come first served basis and student numbers will normally be limited to a maximum of six per class.
Please book by completing a printed copy of the downloadable booking form and returning it to us with a cheque for the appropriate amount.
(You will need a PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the form - most people already have it on their computers but you can download the latest version for free from the Adobe site.)
Please note that all payments should made by cheque and that we don't currently accept debit or credits cards. However, you can reserve places by phone or email although we do request that payment be made within 14 days of making the reservation. Unfortunately, because places are limited, if payment is not received within 14 days the reservation will be cancelled.
